The Consensus Mock Draft is a compilation of the best mock drafts around the web. We bring them together to come up with a good estimate of how the draft could play out. We’re less than three days away from the 2008 NBA Draft, and while some things are becoming clearer, others are becoming more blurry.
Derrick Rose is the overwhelming favorite to be the No. 1 pick, with 11 of our 13 mock drafts having him pencilled in at the top spot. Michael Beasley, therefore, is the overwhelming favorite to go No. 2 to the Heat. Of course, with Udonis Haslem currently manning the four in Miami, that opens up the possibility of a major trade, which could shake things up dramatically.
The rest of the top four (O.J. Mayo to the T-Wolves and Jerryd Bayless to the Sonics) seems to be as set as possible (which is not that set, really). Other popular predictions are Joe Alexander to the Bucks, Danilo Gallinari to the Nets and D.J. Augustin to the Pacers.
It’s teams like Memphis, New York and Sacramento that are the wildcards. They could throw a wrench in the plans of others, and determine the course of the draft.
